Jim Harbaugh is the new man in charge of the University of Michigan Football Team. Jim Harbaugh left the San Francisco 49ers and signed a 7 years, $35 millions base salary. His contract contains so many incentives, that could push the compensation up to about $40+ millions. You can read more about John's contract on this link.
The EXACT same day John Harbaugh was announced, Governor Snyder signed into law a bill that will make it illegal for students at public Universities in Michigan to join Unions. The Michigan Legislature passed the law, formerly House Bill 6074, during the "lame-duck" session, which ended on Dec. 19. Rep. Al Pscholka, R-Stevensville, introduced the bill in early December.
I have nothing against Jim Harbaugh making all the money he can get. However, I'm one of those who believe that College Athletics is just another of exploitation of free labour. I understand the argument that students are getting an scholarship. However, they are the ones who generate billions for corporations, they are the ones who put their livelihood on the line. They are the ones who risk injuries, damages to their bodies and brains, ...etc. But they have nothing to say about the money generated.
